Welcome to Mudsock
The purpose of the Mudsock Youth Football program is:
- To develop and maintain a properly supervised football league for Fishers youth in Kindergarten to sixth grade.
- To promote improved community relations by demonstrating an interest in the youth of our community.
- To encourage physical and mental growth through keen competition.
- To emphasize good citizenship and scholastic achievement.
- To nurture good sportsmanship and a sense of fair play.
Registration for fall football opens May 1st at myathletics.com. Offered to athletes in kindergarten - 2nd (co-ed flag), 2nd - 8th (all- female flag) and 3rd - 6th (rookie, modified and tackle) divisions.

The draft will be held on Saturday, August 1 and players will be notified what team they are on by or before Sunday evening, August 2 by their head coach.
The jamboree and photos will take place on Saturday, August 8, with the rec tackle season officially kicking off on Saturday, August 15.

Board Members
The Mudsock Youth Football League is managed by a volunteer board of directors. The board meets the third Monday of each month at the Mudsock Youth Athletics Building at Billericay Park, 12690 Promise Road, Fishers, IN 46038 at 8:00 pm.
Board Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Important Dates 2026 Fall (updated 7/22/26)
REC MINI CAMP AND EVALUATIONS REC FOOTBALL:
Mini camp and evaluations for 3rd-6th grade REC tackle football will take place July 20-23, 25 and July 27-30.
3rd/4th will be on Mondays and Wednesdays (and Saturday first week)
5th/6th will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays (and Saturday first week)
Location: Mudsock Fields, 12160 Packers Ave, Fishers, IN 46037
Time: 6:30-8:30pm weeknights

****Your player should be in football pants, cleats and a practice jersey (team jerseys will not be provided until after the draft). Bring pads and helmets as well. They may not be worn at all times, but will be needed. Please make sure your player brings water!

Fall Recreational Football
Registration:
Open registration for fall will be held during the month of May 2026.
Fall fees will be as follows:
- Co-ed Flag leagues (k-2nd) the cost is $165.
- All-Female Flag leagues “Monday Night Football” (3rd-8th) the cost is $200.
- Tackle leagues (3rd-6th) the cost is $275.
- Accepting a spot on a travel team will include an additional fee will be detailed by their respective team. Please see the Travel tab for more information over Junior Tigers and Junior Royals.
Co-ed K/1st and 2nd grade flag:
This is a non-contact league. All-female 2nd-4th, 5th-8th grade flag: The league will continue offering this non-contact option for girls in the district, grades 2 through 8. We will move forward if there is enough interest in each age group. Please note, games will be played on Monday nights between 6 – 8 p.m., rather than Saturdays, to encourage players to try out this new offering who may be participating in other fall sports under the MYA umbrella. 3rd Grade Rookie Tackle: This division is based on USA Football’s Rookie Tackle program. The purpose isto help start a transition from the flag leagues and prepare athletes for 11 vs. 11 football. Games are 7 vs. 7 and all players have an opportunity to carry the football.
4th Grade Modified Tackle: Games are 9 vs. 9 tackle football with rules transitioned towards NFHS (high school) rules.
5th and 6th Grade Tackle Rec League: The goal of the 5th and 6th grade league is to prepare athletes for junior high football and is largely based on the Indiana High School Athletic Association’s football rules. It is 11 vs. 11 full contact football. Weight limits exist for ball carriers.
Time Commitment:
The league runs from
late July through October. Weekly time commitment varies slightly by grade. Teams may practice up to twice per week. Most games are on Saturday, but occasional weeknight games are possible. *All-female flag offerings will have a weekday practice, and a set weekday game scheduled each week.
Evaluations:
Rookie, modified, and tackle players must be evaluated before they are placed on a team. Players are evaluated by coaches who have been trained in the USA Football standards and evaluations will take place in July.

Equipment
The following items are needed based on the division you participate in:
Flag: mouthguard, molded cleats, gym shorts *Athletes participating in the flag league will receive additional equipment when their team begins practice.
Tackle (3rd-6th): white football pants w/ pads, practice jersey, mouthguard, molded cleats *The league will provide footballs, helmets, shoulder pads, jerseys, and socks if applicable to your child’s division. Multiple equipment distribution nights will be held in late June and early to mid-July.
Grades K-4th uses a peewee size football and 5th and 6th uses a junior size football.

Being a Coach
On behalf of the Mudsock Youth Football Board, we want to thank you for your commitment to teaching the great sport of football to the youth of our community. To ensure that all participants (players, coaches, and parents) have a rewarding and exciting experience, this section will provide coaches with a lot of the tools they will need to build and execute a consistent approach to coaching youth football. This includes but not limited to important, documents, upcoming dates, and coaching materials. The coaching materials will guide you on how to properly teach football’s fundamentals in every phase of the game and how to run the best drills for every segment of your practice – position, group, and team.

Weather Policies
Severe Weather Policy
The decision as to weather the fields are playable rest with the City of Fishers Parks Department and Fishers - Hamilton Southeastern Youth Football. The decision to close fields will be made by 3:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am on weekends.
No games or practices are to begin with Storm Warning in effect at the time of said game or practice.
When thunder and/or lightning is detected within 10 miles all fields will be cleared for a 30 minute delay. The 30 minute delay will restart at each observed thunder or lightning strike. Players, Parents and Coaches must return to their vehicles during the delay.
Mudsock Youth Football will then determine whether play or practice will resume or be suspended and will communicate via our league communication system, our league commissioners, our coaches and our league

Junior Tigers & Junior Royals Travel Program Overview (26-27)
***Rosters for the 2026-2027 Junior Tigers and Junior Royals have been announced. Please check back for the latest information over their season here!
Mudsock Youth Football is excited to announce the appointment of new head coaches for two travel programs for the 2026-2027 school year. Andrew Goodman will lead the Junior Royals, and Mike Peo will serve as Head Coach of the Junior Tigers.
These teams are open to athletes entering 5th and 6th grade and are designed for players seeking a competitive, development-focused football experience. Additionally, Tim McCoy will serve as the travel commissioner for the league.
***Please note, NEW for this season, all athletes registered in the 5th/6th rec division will be encouraged to attend the evaluation/tryouts for the 2026-2027 Junior Royals and Junior Tigers. This will be a combined evaluation/tryout and will take place June 29th-July 1. Athletes must be registered for rec football to attend. All athletes registered for the 5th/6th rec division will receive additional information over this process via email.
Athletes attending Fall Creek or Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate will be considered for the Junior Royals. Athletes attending Sand Creek or Riverside Intermediate will be considered for the Junior Tigers. Please note, the tryout criteria is based on the intermediate school you attend, regardless of which high school you are districted to attend. Thank you!
