2025-2026 Mudsock Youth Baseball
BOARD OF DIRECTORS & COMMISSIONERS
(elected September 2025)

The Mudsock Youth Baseball League is managed by a volunteer board of directors with various assignments in support of the league. We meet on the 1st Thursday of each month at Billericay Park in the meeting room above the concession stand in the upper pod. 

The board meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to attend. If you have a specific item you would like to place on the meeting agenda, please email the board secretary to make arrangements. Feel free to contact a board member directly via email, by simply clicking on the name.

Mudsock Youth Baseball subscribes to the Mudsock Youth Athletics Code of Conduct, as stated below.

Player's Code:
Play the game for the game's sake.
Be generous when you win.
Be graceful when you lose.
Be fair no matter what the cost.
Obey the laws of the game.
Work for the good of your team.
Accept the decisions of the officials with good grace.
Conduct yourself with honor and dignity.

Coach's and Parent's Code:
Children have more need of example than criticism.
Make athletic participation a positive experience.
Attempt to relieve the pressure of competition.
Be kind to your child's coaches and to officials
The opponents are necessary friends.
Applaud good plays by your team and by the opponents
Enter the field of play at request of official or coach only

Spectator's Code:
We will refrain from booing or yelling at officials or entering the field of play at any time during a game because we are aware of the following:
   -Such behavior on our part sets a poor example of sportsmanship.
   -Such behavior reflects negatively on our community, our team and ourselves.
   -Most officials make the correct calls, even though we sometimes see the incident otherwise.
   -Poor calls usually balance out and incorrect calls seldom affect the outcome. Officiating is difficult and none of us is perfect.
During a game we will refrain from yelling at players on either teams because we are aware of the following:
   -They are young people, who, due to limited experience and great enthusiasm, may make mistakes.
   -Encouragement and praise should be made in public; criticism is best made in private.
   -The coach is best equipped to analyze and correct deficiencies in skills. Our attempts to be helpful in this respect may only confuse the 
   player.
During a game we will refrain from being argumentative or using abusive language towards fans and/or players on either team because we are aware of the following:
   -Others are judging us on our actions and words. We will always strive to ensure that the result of this judgement is a verdict of     
   sportsmanship.
   -We will conduct ourselves in such a courteous and restrained manner that if called upon to do so, we could line up in front of the opposing 
   supporters and graciously shake hands in the same manner that the players are expected to do so.
If our team loses, we will demonstrate our ability to cope with the loss in both deed and word, because we are aware of the following:
   -In athletics as in other aspects of life, it is not always possible to win no matter how supreme the effort.
   -When victory eludes us, we must learn to accept it as graciously.
   -It may just be possible that a loss is due to the fact that the opposing team played better.
   -Our players should learn from our reactions to a loss that:
     -We feel they played their best. 
     -There is no shame attached to an honest effort no matter the score, win or lose.
     -There is always something to learn from a loss.
     -There is nothing gained from brooding; players should be encouraged to put the game behind them and look forward to the next 
      opportunity to play.
     -Seeking scapegoats such as biased officials or poor performance is not a mature or healthy reaction to loss.
Whether away from or at the competitive event, our words and actions should convey a philosophy of athletics which includes:
   -The real purpose of competition is to have fun, to be able to participate to improve skills, to learn sportsmanship, to develop a sense of 
   responsibility and self discipline, to develop group loyalty and camaraderie, to learn to compete within established rules, to accept 
   decisions of authorized officials and to develop sound minds and bodies.         

Billericay Park, our beautiful 29-acre facility, is located at 12690 Promise Road in Fishers, Indiana. Billericay Park is owned, managed and maintained by the City of Fishers, and offers the following amenities:

Billericay Park is named in honor of Fishers' sister city relationship with Billericay, England.

FALL 2025 UMPIRE INFORMATION

Umpire training dates:

Note, interested umpires MUST email Cheryl@myathletics.com to receive the training dates, sign up, complete a W-9 and consent form. Thank you! 

Trainings will take place at the Billericay Board Room (above concessions between field 1-4).

Are you interested in becoming an umpire for the 2025 Fall Rec Baseball Season? That's great! Here's some basic info:

Umpiring is a fun job, but it requires a commitment. You'll get to spend time at the ballpark and make some money! What could be better?

* Minimum age for umpires is 14.

* Must have flexible schedule.
* Must be reliable.

FAQ's

Do I need to purchase my own gear? 
We will have gear you can use but it’s best if you buy your own. $100.00 gets you a full set and based on the pay, you can make it back in a couple of games. At the very least, you will need to purchase a mask. You can share gear but no sharing of masks. 

What is the average pay? 

$40-$50 per game depending on age group. 

What is the time commitment?
You are able to make your own schedule. Games are at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the week and all day on Sunday. You can work as many games as you can handle. Please note, this is a real job and is treated as such. You are responsible for updating your own schedule. If you are not good with commitments or keeping your schedule up-to-date, this may not be for you. 

Do you provide training? 
Yes! We will provide as much training, information and instruction as possible. 

IMPORTANT: You must must read and understand 2022 NFHS (National Federation of State High Schools) as well as any rule adoptions by Mudsock Youth Baseball.
