Welcome to Mudsock
Mudsock Boys Basketball is dedicated to enriching the lives of youth in our community through the sport of basketball. We are committed to fostering a culture of teamwork, skill development, and character building for boys from kindergarten through high school. Through our recreational, intramural, and travel teams, we offer opportunities for players of all skill levels to learn, compete, and excel in a supportive and inclusive environment.

2026-27 Rec Season Overview:
Open winter registration runs from August 1st – August 31st. Registration will be accepted online at mudsockyouth.com. Winter fees (early bird pricing) will be as follows:
- $115 for Kindergarten
- $160 for grades 1st - 6th

Rec League
The Mudsock Boys Basketball League offers a variety of recreational basketball opportunities for boys from Kindergarten through High School (note HS information is listed under the intramural tab), providing a fun and development-focused environment for players at all skill levels.

Kindergarten to 6th Grade Recreation Leagues
The Mudsock Boys Basketball League manages recreational leagues for boys in Kindergarten through 6th grade. These leagues focus on skill development, teamwork, and a love for the game. The leagues are designed to be inclusive and supportive, allowing players to grow at their own pace while enjoying the sport. Each grade level offers a balanced mix of practices and games, ensuring that players have ample opportunity to develop their basketball skills while competing in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
Kindergarten Season
Program fee: (early bird pricing) - $115
Time commitment:
The kindergarten teams will have a 45 minute practice followed by a 45 minute game on Saturdays.
Note: Kindergarten will start the first of January 2027 and play on Saturday's only.
Games begin in January and conclude at the end of February. Please note, there will be NO evaluations for the kindergarten division.
1st-6th Grade Season
Early bird registration opens August 1st and runs through August 31st at mudsockyouth.com.
Program fee: (early bird pricing) - $160
Time commitment: 1st - 6th grade teams will practice 1 time per week and play games on Saturdays. Practices and games will take place in Hamilton Southeastern School District Gyms. The season runs from the end of October to early March.
Junior High Recreation Leagues (7th and 8th Grade)
For 7th and 8th graders, the Junior High Recreation League provides a competitive environment, while maintaining the league's core values of fun and development. The Junior High League is structured to give players a taste of continued gameplay while still emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The junior high rec division combines 7th and 8th grade boys in a single league. The league is not broken into divisions like younger grades. Teams are formed through a draft process and player requests for coaches are not granted.

Time commitment:
Each team plays doubleheaders every Saturday for 6 weeks. They will have 1 practice a week and a season ending single elimination tournament. The season runs from December through March. Please note, the junior high season begins later than the 1st-6th grade season.
Mudsock Elite
Mudsock Elite (Formerly Rec+)
The Mudsock Elite program provides players with a chance to play next-level competition for those who want to play more basketball but don’t want the commitment of a travel program. Continuing for 2026–2027, Mudsock Elite will be completely separate from the recreational league; players who register for Mudsock Elite should not register for recreational basketball.
Team Selection Process
Teams are formed during a closed-door tryout on the dates listed below, with more details to come. Teams are formed using the player's current skill set. The Elite division will play in the Hoosier Basketball League, a competitive league that includes school teams and other AAU-type teams.
Players Not Selected
If your player is not selected, it could be due to a number of reasons, one being the number of players signing up and the limited teams available. It could also be that the committee does not believe the competitive league is the right fit for your player
at this time. Placing a player in a league above their current skill set can negatively impact their enjoyment of the game and potentially affect their development in other sports as well. Players who register for Mudsock Elite but are not placed on a team should register for the recreational division (by the end of September) if they choose to do so.

Cost
The league cost is $335. This includes practices, uniform, and two sessions of play – October to December and January to March.

program aligned to the junior high school they are expected to attend. This helps teammates compete and play together ahead of their junior high seasons. Tryouts will be for 3rd–6th graders only.

Fees
During registration, you paid $50 to enter tryouts. This fee covers MYA's cost to schedule and provide insurance for your player. Note: If your player does not make a travel team but wants to try out for Mudsock Elite, please notify elite@mudsockbasketball.com. Your $50 registration fee will also cover those tryouts.
What other fees will there be?
If your player is chosen for a team, the total cost to play for the 2026–27 season will be X. This includes two sessions of basketball (fall and winter), practices, and two tournaments. Uniforms are not included in this price.
Uniforms
When your player attends training tryouts or tryouts, uniforms will be available to try on. We will document the size needed so that, if selected for a team, we can order jerseys without delay.
Coaching Opportunities
If you would like to sign up to be a coach, please complete the form here. The high school coaches will select coaches based on qualifications. If you apply and are selected, you will be notified after tryouts and asked to attend a coaches meeting shortly afterwards.

High School Intramural
The Mudsock Boys Basketball League asupports and oversees a High School Intramural League. This league is ideal for high school players who want to stay active in basketball without the commitment of a school team. It offers a relaxed yet competitive environment where players can enjoy the game, stay in shape, and continue developing their skills. The High School Intramural League fosters a community atmosphere, allowing players to connect with peers and enjoy the sport in a less structured setting.
High School Intramural Season Information
Registration opens in November at myathletics.com and runs through the end of December for the 2026-27 season. The 2026-27 flyer will be posted here this fall. Please note, you must attend Fishers High School or Hamilton Southeastern High School to participate.
Overview
The intramural program is $120 per player and athletes can register as a team by indicating their team captain on the online form (maximum of 10 players per team).
Athletes are also able to sign up as a free agent to be placed on a team who needs additional players.
Please note, if a team does not have at least 8 registered players (under the same team captain), the league reserves the right to place individual players “free agents” on the team.
The league reserves the right to make final roster decisions.
The intramural program has officiated games but there are no formal practices or coaches.
